My name is Kira, I have been in the IT industry for 10 years, working for schools, RMA departments, data centers, and manufacturing floors. I've seen the best and worst of warehouses, offices, cleanrooms and every bit of gossip and temp agent fuckery in between.

Because of the vicious nature of the IT industry, The perennial agony of volatile layoffs, the fact that my current employer is slashing hours and asking me to work harder for less money, I have decided to move on from this industry. Soon I will move onto a career of public service in the form of becoming a city bus driver.

On my spare time I read books, hang out with pals, scribble in my journals and on this site, and occasionally play the bass. You bet I'm managing this webpage with a clapped out thinkpad T420.
